MANAGING FINANCIAL & OPERATIONAL RISKS FOR ORGANIZATIONAL EXCELLENCE

This course introduces executives to the modern quantitative and qualitative models designed for the planning and effective allocation of human, material and financial resources in support of the organization\'s strategic objectives, goals, and policies. This training is relevant to the service, institutional, and government sectors, as well as the functional disciplines of management, finance, operations, human resources and information technology. We will discuss processes and strategies that can be put in place to manage the adverse impact of financial, operational and talent risks. From a qualitative perspective, we will explore management strategies, including the balanced scorecard that will ensure that institutional leaders are also achieving as many of their strategic objectives as appropriate. We will also examine the role of comprehensive workforce strategies as it relates to minimizing an organization’s overall risk and discuss the importance of alignment with the organization’s vision, mission and strategic objectives. We will also delve into effective decision-making models such as: goal programming, marginal analysis, transportation method, assignment algorithm, shortest route and maximal flow network models, project crashing.
